Ingredients (All Grain6 gal)

  • 0.2 lbs British Crystal 55°L

    British Crystal 55°L

Sweet caramel flavor, adds mouthfeel and head retention. For pale or amber ales.

  • 8 lbs Maris Otter Pale

    Maris Otter Pale

An English thoroughbred and a favored choice of malt for many brewers. Simpsons' Maris Otter has a rich and nutty flavor and despite its small, berry size has a strong husk. This malt delivers predictable brewhouse performance with modest, yet consistent extracts. Brewers can expect good runoffs with clear wort.

  • .2 lbs Black Roasted Barley

    Black Roasted Barley

Unmalted roasted grain, it is the backbone of many stouts. Imparts a sharp acrid flavor characteristic of dry stouts. Gives "dryness" to a stout or porter ,more so than regular Roasted Barley.

  • .5 lbs Invert Sugar

    Invert Sugar

Increases alcohol. Use in some Belgian or English ales. Made from sucrose & is 5-10% less fermentable than sucrose. Does not contain dextrins.

  • .4 lbs Torrified Wheat

    Torrified Wheat

Helps head retention and mouthfeel, used in some pale ales.

  • 2 oz Fuggle - 4.8 AA% pellets; boiled 45 min

    Fuggle

Mild. Mainly used for finishing and dry hopping especially pale ales, porters, and stouts. Aroma is mild and pleasant, spicy, and soft.

  • BrewTek CL-150 British Real Ale

    BrewTek CL-150 British Real Ale

For those longing for the character of a real pub bitter. This yeast has a complex, woody, and fruity ester profile that charactarizes many real ales. Typically under attenuating, the malt profile is left intact with a mild sweetness in the finish.
