Ingredients (Extract5 gal)

  • .5 lbs Crystal Malt 60°L

    Crystal Malt 60°L

    Sweet caramel flavor, deep golden to red color. For dark amber and brown ales.

  • .5 lbs Belgian Cara-Pils

    Belgian Cara-Pils

    Significantly increases foam/head retention and body of the beer.

  • 7 lbs Dry Light Extract

    Dry Light Extract

    White color, mild flavor. Will produce lagers and Pilseners and can also be used to produce darker beers when used in conjunction with colored malts. Made of pale malt.

  • 1.5 oz Chinook -13.0 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Chinook

    Spicy, Medium to Heavy.Very strong bittering ability used in all American ales and lagers. Aroma is very floral.

  • 1 oz Cascade -5.5 AA% pellets; boiled 25 min

    Cascade

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • 1 oz Cascade -5.5 AA% pellets; boiled 5 min

Wow this one turned out fantastic!! Dripping with hops! The aroma citrus wafts above the glass and the smooth body backs up the hops well. A touch darker than the original because I'm guessing of the carmelization of a partial boil. Will retry this one sometime with a full boil.

I have been brewing for quite a few years and tend to drift around different styles as the mood and season takes me, but I have to say this recipe is home. The aroma, head retention, mouth after taste and bottle aging are all magnificent and is very popular with my friends.
