  • 12 lbs Belgian Pils

    Belgian Pils

    Pilsner style malted barley grain.

  • 1.5 lbs 2-Row Carapils® Malt;Briess

    2-Row Carapils® Malt;Briess

    Very low color or flavor contribution. Characteristics & Applications: • The endosperm is completely glassy and will appear to be darker than standard Brewers Malt. • Carapils® is a very unique dextrine-style malt that adds body, foam retention, and beer stability without influencing color or flavor. • Use to upgrade all types of beer, including light colored beers. • The non-fermentables in Carapils® are very advantageous in balancing body and flavor of dark colored beers. • May be used with or without other specialty malts. • Low usage of 1-5% will help achieve desired results. • Produced from AMBA/BMBRI recommended 2-Row Malting Barley varieties.

  • 0.75 lbs Belgian Caravienne

    Belgian Caravienne

    Belgian light crystal malt. Used in lighter Abbey or Trappist style ales.

  • 0.5 lbs Weyermann CaraHell®;Weyermann

    Hefe-Weizen, Pale Ale, Golden Ale, Oktoberfest Beer, Nourishing Beer, Maibock , Schankbier, Light Beer, alcohol-reduced Beer , non-alcoholic Beer

  • 1 oz Northern Brewer -8.0 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Northern Brewer

    Used for bittering with strong flavors and very fragrant in steam beers, dark English ales, and German lagers. Aroma is medium-strong with evergreen and mint overtones.

  • 0.5 oz Amarillo® -8.5 AA% whole; boiled 30 min

    Amarillo®

    Grown in Washington. A newer multi-use hop with a nice citrus-flower bouquet and medium-high acid content suited for bittering. Used in American Ales and IPAs.

  • 0.5 oz Simcoe® -13.0 AA% whole; boiled 30 min

    Simcoe®

    Used for aromatic, and especially bittering properties.

  • 1 oz Amarillo® -8.5 AA% whole; boiled 1 min

Notes

Two stage mash with 30 mins at 122F and 30 mins at 150F. Fermented for four weeks at 62F.

Easy breezy and thirst quenching.

I've been playing with this recipe for a few rounds now and I'm really happy with the way this turned out. Light and sessionable, yet nice hop presence and a dry finish. If I were to make one more tweak to this recipe I'd probably dry hop it with some additional Simcoe and Amarillo.
