Ingredients (All Grain5 gal)

  • 9.30 lbs German 2-row Pils

    German 2-row Pils

  • 0.10 lbs Black Roasted Barley

    Black Roasted Barley

Unmalted roasted grain, it is the backbone of many stouts. Imparts a sharp acrid flavor characteristic of dry stouts. Gives "dryness" to a stout or porter ,more so than regular Roasted Barley.

  • 0.35 lbs Caramalt 15;Bairds Malt

    Caramalt 15;Bairds Malt

Caramalts are used to give colour and flavour to pale Lager beers but should be used with care to avoid making the beer too dark or giving it too cloying a flavour. They also change the oxidation - reduction state of a beer, and can therefore improve the stability of a beer by preventing the formation of oxidised (cardboard) flavours.

  • 0.3 oz Nugget -13.0 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Nugget

This is very bitter and often used in medium to dark ales and lagers. Aroma is quite heavy and herbal.

  • 0.17 oz Summit™ -17.0 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min

    Summit™

Super-high alpha hop with a low cohumulone content and a strong orange/tangerine citrus character.

  • 0.17 oz Cascade -5.5 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min

    Cascade

Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • 0.17 oz Pacifica™ -5.5 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min

    Pacifica™

The Pacifica brings something of a blend of new and old-world taste descriptors to the brewers' forum. Orange marmalade aptly describes the citrus aroma notes achieved through late addition. Bittering quality is such that early kettle additions net a soft yet solid finish even in highly bittered beers.—NZ Hops Limited

  • Wyeast3944Belgian Witbier™

    Wyeast3944Belgian Witbier™

A tart, slightly phenolic character capable of producing distinctive witbiers and grand cru-style ales alike. Alcohol tolerant.
