Ingredients (Extract2.5 gal)

  • 1.00 lbs Dry Amber; Muntons

    Dry Amber; Muntons

    Used predominantly in the production of medium-colored beers such as pale ales, IPAs, and bitters.

  • 1.5 lbs Corn Sugar

    Corn Sugar

    Use in priming beer or in extract recipes where flaked maize would be used in a mash.

  • 0.5 lbs Dark Brown Sugar

    Dark Brown Sugar

    Imparts rich, sweet flavor. Use in Scottish ales, old ales and holiday beers.

  • .1875 lbs Honey

    Honey

    Imparts sweet and dry taste. For honey and brown ales. Also: specialty ales.

  • 2.00 oz Summit™ - 17.0 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Summit™

    Super-high alpha hop with a low cohumulone content and a strong orange/tangerine citrus character.

  • 1.00 oz Nugget - 13.0 AA% whole; boiled 60 min

    Nugget

    This is very bitter and often used in medium to dark ales and lagers. Aroma is quite heavy and herbal.

  • 2.00 oz Centennial - 10.0 AA% whole; boiled 1 min

    Centennial

    Aromatic but acceptable for bittering. Medium aroma with floral and citrus tones. Good in medium to dark ales.

  • WYeast 1764-PC ROGUE Pacman

    WYeast 1764-PC ROGUE Pacman

    A versatile yeast strain from one of Oregon’s leading craft breweries. Pacman is alcohol tolerant, flocculent, attenuates well and will produce beers with little to no diacetyl. Very mild fruit complements a dry, mineral finish making this a fairly neutral strain. Pacman’s flavor profile and performance makes it a great choice for use in many different beer styles.

A full pound of hops from White River IIPA were left in the pot, added sugars & water, let boil for 25 mins. 1oz Nugget Hops @ 10 min left in boil 1oz Cascade Hops @ 2 min left in boil 1oz Cascade Hops @ flame out OG: 1.052 FG: 1.011 Brew Date: Wed 8/21/13 Secondary: Sunday 9/8/13 Dry Hop: none Bottled: 10/8/13 Debut: 11/17/13

Best beer yet? But it's so little...

This brew of left over hops turned out very good. Very crisp and tasting like a much bigger beer. Very hoppy and clean. Rebrewing my used hops and creating a second beer will become a new norm.
