Ingredients (Extract3 gal)

  • .75 lbs Crystal 60; Great Western

    Crystal 60; Great Western

    Similar to C40 but with a more extensive roasting to a target color of 60° ASBC. Has a more pronounced caramel flavor to coincide with the color.

  • .25 lbs Golden Naked Oats

  • 1 oz Vanilla (whole bean) - + 1 cinnamon stick (omitted from calculations)

    Vanilla Beans have a sweet, perfumed aroma with a woody or smoky flavor. Pure Vanilla Extract has a similar aroma. Vanilla Beans are the long, greenish-yellow seed pods of the tropical orchid plant, Vanilla planifolia. Before the plant flowers, the pods are picked, unripe, and cured until they're dark brown. The process takes up to six months.

This turned out way better than I thought it would!

I tasted this right before bottling and it had a very strong licorice flavor. It has since mellowed out and tastes great and is very smooth.
