Ingredients (All Grain5 gal)

  • .5 lbs American Caramel 80°L

    American Caramel 80°L

    Mild caramel,nutty flavor, sweet. adds color(Red Ale)

  • 5.0 lbs American 2-row

    American 2-row

    Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

  • .5 lbs Roasted Barley

    Roasted Barley

    Sweet, grainy, coffee flavor and a red to deep brown color. For porters and stouts.

  • 2.0 lbs English 2-row Pale

    English 2-row Pale

    All English Ales. Workhorse of British Brewing. Infusion Mash.

  • .75 lbs English Chocolate Malt

    English Chocolate Malt

    Dark malt that gives a rich red or brown color and nutty flavor. Use for: Brown ales, porters, some stouts Maintains some malty flavor, not as dark as roasted malt.

  • .5 lbs British Black Patent

    Dry, burnt, chalky character. Use in porters, stouts, brown ales and dark lagers.

  • 1 lbs Honey

    Imparts sweet and dry taste. For honey and brown ales. Also: specialty ales.

    Helps head retention, imparts creamy smoothness. For porters and stouts.

  • 1 oz Cascade -4.5 AA% whole; boiled 15 min

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • 1 oz Mt. Hood -5.0 AA% whole; boiled 60 min

    Used mainly for aroma and flavor in American and German style ales and lagers. Aroma is mild, pleasant, light, and clean.

  • .25 oz Cascade -8.2 AA% whole; boiled 5 min

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

    Wyeast3766Cider

    Crisp dry fermenting yeast with big, fruity finish. Creates a nice balance for all types of apples, pears and other fruit or fermentables. Allows fruit character to dominate the profile.

Notes

Mash Grains at for 60 minutes in 2.5 gallons of water at 160. Sparge with 2.5 gallons at 160 .I always use home grown hops and the amount always varies. So feel free to experiment. God Bless America
