I just installed BeerTools and entered the data from first brew. When printing out the info sheet afterwards I ran into the following discrepancy:
Program values for ABV: Apparent: 4.62%
Real: 5.91%
Printout values for ABV: Apparent: 5.91%
Real: 4.62%
Any explanation or is this a bug ?
In addition, in the program I entered the following values:
OG reading: 1.060
TG reading: 1.015
The program then listed the following:
Original extract: Apparent: 1.060
Real: 1.060
Terminal extract: Apparent: 1.015
Real: 1.023
Again - any explanation ?
Thanks in advance
Differences between program values and printed values
Re: Differences between program values and printed values
The ABV and ABW values are not part of the Apparent and Real columns. Alcohol doesn't have an apparent and real value. That's why ABV and ABW appear after their respective values.Df39 wrote:I just installed BeerTools and entered the data from first brew. The measured terminal gravity is always "apparent" because of the effect alcohol has on fluid density. Real extract factors in the effect of alcohol and is higher than the measured value.Df39 wrote:In addition, in the program I entered the following values:
