I'm some what new to the home brewing areana and I wanted to know some stuff.
1. What are the most bitter hops
2. Which sugars and yeasts will produce the most alcohol
3. What are the darkest color producing grains?
Basic Questions
Here ya go
Hops are categorized by % Alpha, the higher the more bitter. The highest I've seen was an 11%.
Champagne yeast has the highest tolerance for alcohol, since alcohol kills yeast, and more malt extract equals higher alcohol. Yeast eats sugars, uses oxygen to digest the sugar, it then exhales carbon dioxide, and poops alcohol so it's living in its own waste perse'.
The darkest I've seen is whats called 'Belgian Special B'.
Hope this helps.
