about yeast starter for lager??

hello i have a ? about using mr malty when i use it to see what size of starter I need sometimes it tell me that I need one tube of yeast in to 3 gallon of starter now my ? is do I need to step it up to the 3 gallons or can i just pitch one tube of yeast into the 3 gallon an let it ferment all the way out ?????

Yes, you can pitch directly into the 3 gallons.

You should also check the setting for "Intermittent Shaking". It's not as effective as a stir-plate, you can usually substantially reduce the volume that you need with that extra effort.
