I have a batch that needs to be bottled (been in the secondary going on 2 weeks), but I won't have a chance to make a run to the homebrew store this weekend..I was wondering if there were any alternatives for priming that I could use in place of corn sugar or dried malt extract.
I DO have some liquid extract that I could use, but how much (for a 5 gal batch)?? Thanks in advance!!
priming??
RE: Priming
Hi FrankieBoy007,
I would not use any liquid extract at this point as the sugar content is unknown and you may be creating bottle bombs!
The beer can keep another week or 2 if needed until you have the time to get the corn sugar or the DME required. It's better to be safe than sorry and ruin a batch of beer!
Hope this helps!

Priming with table sugar
You can prime with simple table sugar.
Use 4.75 oz/5 gal cane sugar if you normally use 5 oz of corn sugar,
or 3.8 oz cane sugar if you prefer 4 oz of corn sugar.
Boil for 5-10 minutes in 2 cups of water and you'll never know the difference.
