Should I spray mist on my grain before milling?

Does anyone know if theres benefits to spraying a fine mist of water on grains before milling in order to soften the husk and retain husk integrity?

Misting

You can if you want. I have read that some brewers do it but I personally don't. I have a Phil mill and really don't have a problem with the husk breaking apart. It might be something to consider for the folks that use a Corona mill.

Have a look at this old thread: http://www.beertools.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=740 -- the third post from Mesa Maltworks.
