I recently ran my rendition of my Imperial Russian Stout through the tools here and they indicated my SG was too high at 1.095 and coupled to SG the abv% was too high at 10%abv.
I am pretty sure this reciepe fits into this catagory via NHC form. Where is it off?
Shouldn't it be 1.075-1.095 O.G. and ABV 8.6-14.4.(oh no, research).
12# English 2 row
1# Crystal 60L
1 3/4# midwest wheat
3/4 Choclate malt(maybe American)
3/4 British Black Patent
1# Roasted Barley
1# Starthistle honey(5 min. boil)
Hops
1oz Yakima Magnum 60 min. aa%14.5
3/4oz. East Kent Goldings 15 min.aa%5
1/2oz. East Kent Goldings 1 min. aa%5
I chose Trappist yeast.
This gave an O.G. of 1.096
Terminal about 1.025
IBU at 61.3
ABV% at 9.49(Imperial light)
Of coarse this would be after 1817 and the invention of dark malts and in the Courge brewery type of recipe.

Seems alright to me.
1.095 is within the 1.075 to 1.095 range given by the BJCP. The styles on this site currently reflect the old AHA guidelines. The styles will be updated within the next month or so.
