Food Grade Silicon

Does anyone know where you can get food grade silicon? Or any food grade sealer?

Lubricant or Sealant?

Post by BillyBock »

If you're referring to silicone lubricant, there's a product called Keg Lube that's food grade.

As far as sealants, DAP makes some. You want to make sure it's 100% silicone sealant. However, you need to read the warnings/cautions on the back and also see if you can get the MSDS (material safety data sheet). Most of the one's I've come across said they were safe for "incidental" food contact. If you need to seal something that'll be immersed, I'm not certain how these would fair. IIRC though, the worst compound that it puts out is a vinegar odor while it's curing.

Sealant

I want to build a couple of heat sticks. I have been trying to find the DAP (8641) 100% silicon sealant, but have not had any luck.
