Plans for rotating sparge arms, anyone?

Post by Duff_Man »

I'd like to build a rotating "Phils" style rotating sparge arm for a 5 gal setup, and was wondering if anyone had some plans. The concept seems pretty straightforeward, except for the question of what to use for the rotating joint.

Wire

Phil's uses a wire and brass tubes.
The wire is drilled through and attached via solder to the vertical brass tube and a ball of tin on the end of the wire.

I quit using mine and now use a plastic lid on top of the grain to pur onto, works good, cheap, no making it.

I use a simple copper manifold to dribble sparge water on top of grain, works great
