Dry hopping issues in secondary

Post by manplant »

In the process of dry hopping a belgian tripel my hop bags came open in the secondary and some pellets were released into the secondary. How long will it take the hops to settle out, or am I going to have hop pieces in the beer?

Any suggestions on secondary dry hopping with glass carbuoys?

When ever I dry hop in the secondary with pellets I have never used a bag. Only with whole flowers was when it was necessary. The pellets will settle out rather quickly. If you are doing a two weeks in the secondary then you are good.
