Linux Version - Alternate Setting and Data locations
If you move the default location of your recipe library the {$HOME}/Beer Tools Pro folder is still required to store the Settings and Data folders. It would helpful if Beer Tools Pro Linux edition would also look for it's settings in an alternate hidden location {$HOME}/.beertoolspro or {$HOME}/.config/beertoolspro
This change would allow users to have a more clean home directory. It's also more conventional for Linux application to store that type of application data in hidden folder in the root of the home directory.
What do other Linux users think?

Good idea. Does {$HOME}/.config/ exist on most Linux systems? Which is better? .config/beertoolspro/ or .beertoolspro/ ?

I think most every freedesktop.org compliant desktop, certainly Gnome and KDE, will have the {$HOME}/.config folder. I would think to be safe you would still want to test that {$HOME}/.config exists if using that option. Considering that I guess {$HOME}/.beertoolspro would be the most bullet-proof option.
