We were not able to offer an official release for Linux because of a third party plugin problem. Some have decided that this is a small inconvenience and have switched their license to the unsupported Linux version of BeerTools Pro. If you decide you would like to investigate this possibility please let me know.

BTP on Linux

Post by dirtdigr »

How do I get a copy of Beer Tool Pro for Linux? I understand the linux version is unsupported but would love to try/beta test. I currently run 3 flavors of linux (Ubuntu, Fedora, & Suse), and would be more than happy to provide feedback.

64 bit linux?

Is there any chance we could get a 64 bit build?

It is unlikely. However, I have successfully installed BeerTools Pro on Ubuntu 11.04 64 bit and it runs fine for me. This is untested and I can't guarantee it will work for you, but this is how I did it:

First, I used the Synaptic Package Manager to install "ia32-libs".
Then I opened the Terminal and typed this command from the directory where the downloaded package file exists:

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg --install --force-architecture --force-depends ./beertoolspro-1.5.18-1.i386.deb
If you have any questions please let me know.
