thanks for the fast and informing replies. I got 3 gallon bucket cause it came with some kit i got, i will order a 6.5 gallon online when i know i can make a good beer in this 3 gallon. The 6.5 gallon buckets are good to make 5 gallons of beer right? I dont need an exactly 5 gallon bucket do i?

Ok im going to order an extract ingredient kit. The kit is for 5 gallons but i only want to do 2.5 gallons cause thats what size my bucket can handle. So if i order the kit do i just cut everything in half? Like if they give me 6 pounds of liquid extract i will only use 3 pounds of it? And the same ...

ok thanks everyone for your help, i think im gonna stick to extact for a little longer till i know how to do that. But along with the extract there are still recipes that call for steeping other grains, correct?

ok i wanna do an all grain
I want to by the base malt and all the other grains needed to make an all grain beer, I am gonna get a recipe from this page and buy everything i need. What special equipment do i need and is there any site that can take me step by step through the all grain process?? Thanks

ok thanks, i think im gonna just make this batch now and see how it comes out. and tomorrow im gonna order some DME and hops and yeast online..the yeast is $4.95 for that Wyeast, is that a good price. And that only makes one batch. Thanks for the help

I am using a 3 gallon bucket so i will brew a little over 2.5 gallons. The ingredient kit that came with my beer gave me 1 pound of dry light extract, 1 ounce of cascade hops and 11 grams of brewing yeast. Does this sound right for a 2.5 gallon batch? And do i have to add any sugar to the wort?

Today i made a recipe on the generator on this page and it was with an amber dry malt extract and a few other things, and it said it would cost $15 to make it for my 3 gallons. But i cant find anywhere that the malt extract is under $10 and the yeast $4.75. Thats already $14.75, than add the dollar ...
