Re: Liscense Key doesn't work

Hey There! I've downloaded the latest iteration of BT (1.5.11b) and when I try to enter my liscense key it doesn't allow me to register. What am I doing wrong. Let me know! Thanks! Ryan rrb828@aol.com The latest version is 1.5.1. Is that the version you meant to say or are you downloading a copy of...

Batch Sparging Example - Beta 1.5.11

Does anyone have an example of a typical two-step batch sparging schedule to show me,... and everyone for that matter. I've tried making the 'Batch' schedule work for me, but am unable to. Here's what I'd consider a typical Batch Sparge for an ? gallon batch 1) Infusion of 1/2 total kettle volume @ ...

Re: Volume Adjustment Problem

I think the point that was missed was that he added a volume adjustment, the net volume changed, then he deleted the volume adjustment, and the net volume did not go back to match the Final Volume. I confirm that this bug exists in the alpha version also .0.6 cheers! Ahh,... now I see. Yeah, that's...

Re: Final Volume vs. Net Volume

Final Volume at the top of the page refers to the volume in the kettle at the end of the boil. It won't be affected by any of the Volume Adjustments, which refer to volume changes that occur during and after transfer from the boil kettle to the fermentor, such as transfer losses and trub losses. sl...

Re: Residual Volume

No, the whole reason for this post is not to determine the actual brewing volumes, but to find out how to best utilize BeerTools Scheduler as a batch-sparger, which is geared toward the fly-sparger. Yes I can tweak the temp of the runoffs as they pertain to the final volume, but they, themselves do...

quirkiness upon saving

Hey Jeff, Wow! This is lookin' good! I really like the browser panel on the left-hand side - reminds me of Beer Smith's. I absolutely LOVE being able to edit quantities within the main window, and the search functionality up-top is a very welcome addition. I'm just getting into exploring it, so I'll...

Re: Residual Volume

The temperature issue could be a bit contentious, but here's where I think you are going wrong: As you know, water changes volume at different temperatures. Also, the temperature, and therefore volume, changes when the water is heated to mash temperature or cooled as it is transferred out of the tu...

Re: More re 'Final Volume'

As I understand it, "Final Volume" is not the volume that goes into your fermenter nor into your kegs/bottles; it is the final volume in your kettle at the end of the boil, assuming that you've allowed it to cool down to 68F. I also don't think that "Final Volume" is supposed to...

Re: Final volume and trub loss

Hello Why the turb loss ist not counted in final volume? Must be more near the realty no? Dom You are right, it should be counted but doesn't seem to be in my calculations either. I worked around this problem by accounting for all my 'losses' within the Volume Adjustments dialogue. I'm sure that so...

Re: Residual Volume

Camel, The major source of your problem is your misinterpretation of the Residual Volume field. The Residual Volume is the amount of liquid you have left in the tun after draining (and accounting for dead space). By allowing a negative value in this space, you're telling BTP that you've drained 0.1...

Re: Batch sparge interface

[quote="jeff"]Thanks for all of the detail! I will be referring to your post over the coming months as I work on improving the schedule interface. Batch sparge has been a challenge to provide an interface for. There are so many variables that depend on each other that it is hard to...

Re: My method

snip ... Just a question,...all you batch spargers out there 1) put your strike water into the tun at the calculated temp. 2) stir in your grain to arrive at the correct saccrification(protein etc.) rest temp,...right? ... snip Crap. I had a nice reply drafted and somehow I managed to close the tab...

I'm confused by this. You had 5.5 gallons of 1st runnings, ended up with 8.9 gallons, so you must have had 4.4 gallons of 2nd runnings. Right No, 5.5 + 4.4 = 9.9,... I got 8.9 in the kettle. 1st runnings = 5.5 (predicted 4.4) & 2nd runnings = 3.4 (predicted 4.5),...Yeah,...I know, it's wierd, b...
