I use this method myself with a 7 CF chest freezer. They only way I roll now! Remember that fermentation temps in the carboy or bucket are 5_7 degrees warmer then the exterior. Set your controller according to that.

Try a local home brew store ( lube for short) and get a pre made extract recipe kit. Most come with everything you need, grains, extract, hops, bags for both grains and hope, yeast, bottle caps and priming sugar.
